Resumen: The scope of this work is to develop a numerical simulation of the generation of heat in the contact zone AW between diamond abrasive grains and the pcBN workpiece material. For this purpose, an existing simulation model for the calculation of heat during frictional contact between diamond abrasive grains and PCD as workpiece material will be adapted and evaluated. The adaption includes the material properties and microstructure of pcBN, the consideration of ambient air as well as lubricant. Subsequently, the temperature in the workpiece material and the diamond abrasive grains is evaluated for different input parameters based on a systematic design of experiments. Finally, the results, limitations and conclusions will be explained and discussed.
