The artistic deposit of Zaragoza during the Civil War

Resumen: Este artículo presenta un tema inédito que hasta ahora no había sido tratado por la disciplina histórico-artística, y que viene a estudiar el depósito que la cuidad de Zaragoza atesoró durante la Guerra Civil española. Un importante volumen patrimonial fue trasladado a la capital aragonesa a través del Servicio de Defensa del Patrimonio Artístico Nacional. Cómo fue el proceso de traslado, almacenamiento y devolución de los bienes culturales rescatados, son algunas de las cuestiones a las que se intenta dar respuesta.
This paper contributes ground-breaking research into the patrimony stored by the city of Zaragoza during the Spanish Civil War, a subject which so far has gone unheeded by art and history disciplines. The remarkable ensemble was shifted to Zaragoza by the Servicio de Defensa del Patrimonio Artistico Nacional (Office for the Defence of National Artistic Heritage). The process of relocation, storage and return of the salvaged cultural assets is explored and assessed.
