Resumen: Psychological wellbeing is a major health concern today. Several researches and interventions have been carried out seeking to improve it in young adults. It is from there that physical activity (PA) and sport have become an effective means for that purpose. However, even with theoretical knowledge about the effect of sport and PA on psychological wellbeing, there is no research that seeks to know the perspective of young adults on this. That said, the aim of this research is to deeply explore and understand young adult's perception of psychological well-being through PA. 34 participants ranging from 23 to 28 years answered semi-structured devised questionnaires incorporating photo-elicitation as a research method. The results showed that young adults perceived PA and sports as a place where they can develop their psychological wellbeing emphasizing their personal growth, purpose in life and social relationships. In addition, new dimensions appear strengthening the proposed theory such as freedom, self-confidence and personal balance.
