La voz de Antígona: Entre la vida y la muerte

Resumen: Vivir o morir parecen ser las dos únicas alternativas que tiene un ser humano, pero Zambrano cuestiona esta división con el personaje de Antígona de su obra La tumba de Antígona. En lugar de morir, como ocurría en la conocida obra de Sófocles, Zambrano da voz a Antígona, que habla desde una tumba, pues esa es su condena: estar “ni en la vida ni en la muerte”. Desde este espacio emite su voz, la voz de quienes han sufrido el abuso del poder, la voz de personas que han sido excluidas de la sociedad solo por no acatar normas injustas. La voz que denuncia la incesante y silenciada guerra contra las diferencias.

Basically, the only two choices a human being has are to live or to die. However, Zambrano questions this dichotomy by means of the character of Antigone in her work, The Tomb of Antigone. In Sophocles’ well-known play, the character of Antigone dies. In Zambrano’s text, Antigone does not die but lives in a tomb, that is, she remains “neither alive nor dead”. It is from this space that she emits her voice, the voice of those who have suffered abuse of power, the voice of the people who have been excluded from society for not obeying unfair rules. The voice which condemns the relentless and silenced war against differences
