Driving-assistance device based on Raspberry Pi and Neural Networks: an opportunity to learn aspects of programming, Machine Learning and hardware
Resumen: Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a well-established learning methodology, especially in university degrees, and has special relevance and importance in Engineering. In this paper we present the design, implementation and validation of a low-cost driving-assistance device based on Raspberry Pi and Neural Networks, carried out within the framework of a Final Degree Project in Electronic and Automatic Engineering using the PBL methodology. The device carries out the automatic identification of traffic signs and the subsequent alert speech, and it could be implemented in any type of vehicle. With this project, the student has successfully put into practice artificial intelligence-related, computer vision, programming and device development concepts and skills, during the development of his Final Degree Project.
