Juan Luis de Musante, maestro mayor de las obras de la ciudadela de Pamplona

Resumen: Juan Luis de Musante y Rubiano fue un arquitecto genovés que desempeñó el prestigioso cargo de maestro mayor de obras reales de Navarra bajo el reinado de Felipe II. Su principal cometido consistió en la dirección de las obras de la ciudadela de Pamplona desde aproximadamente 1575 hasta su fallecimiento en 1587, de acuerdo a las trazas y órdenes dadas por Jacobo Palear Fratín. El presente artículo aporta documentación inédita de su participación en la fortaleza pamplonesa, así como referencias a los informes y diseños elaborados por el ingeniero Fratín al respecto.
Juan Luis de Musante and Rubiano was a Genoese architect who held the prestigious position of royal master builder of Navarre under the reign of Philip II. Its main task was the management of the works of the citadel of Pamplona at about 1575 until his death in 1587, according to the drawings and orders given by Jacobo Palear Fratín. This article provides unpublished documents relating to his participation in the fortress of Pamplona, with references to the orders and designs given by the engineer Fratín.
