Cornutus on Varro on the Aspirate H: Making Full Sense of Cassiod. Orth. 1.79–87 Stoppacci (Cornut. fr. 16 Mazzarino)

Resumen: This paper reviews a passage in Cassiodorus that reports Annaeus Cornutus' criticism of Varro's stance on consonantal aspiration in Latin. After challenging previous textual conjectures, I propose a new text that results in both a better understanding of the passage and the removal of the alleged contradictions in Varro's approach to the issue.
