El limbo de la intermediación inmobiliaria en la legislación sobre vivienda
Resumen: Real estate brokerage in Spain has been a liberalised activity since the year 2000; anyone can work as a real estate broker without the need to accredit a minimum level of knowledge or be a member of a professional association. This study denounces the neglect of real estate brokerage in Spanish legislation and calls for a common regulation with the aim of controlling and limiting abuses. Although the new Housing Law of 2023 establishes some basic requirements for real estate agents and the information or advertising they offer, it has forgotten to regulate fundamental aspects of the profession that have been demanded by legal operators.
