Applications of artificial intelligence in contemporary sociology = Aplicaciones de la Inteligencia Artificial en la Sociología Contemporánea

Resumen: The artificial intelligence (IA) it has transformed multiple sectors of the society, improving the efficiency and the taking of decisions in areas like the medicine, the automotive, the finances, the security and the marketing. Originally, the investigation in IA highlighted for its interdisciplinarity, integrating psychology knowledge, philosophy, economy and art. However, a tendency has been observed recently, mainly toward the specialization and the isolation of the IA of other social, due sciences to the complexity and speed of its advances. This limited focus outlines significant ethical and social challenges, including problems of privacy of data, the increase of the unemployment for automation and the perpetuation of slanting algorithmic. To face these challenges, it is essential the development of robust and political regulations that you/they promote an ethical use and responsible for the IA. Also, it is crucial to foment the education and the public conscience on the implications of the technology, assuring that their development and application are inclusive and equal. This article highlights the importance of reestablishing the interdisciplinary collaboration to maximize the social benefits of the IA and to minimize its potential risks.

La inteligencia artificial (IA) ha transformado múltiples sectores de la sociedad, mejorando la eficiencia y la toma de decisiones en áreas como la medicina, la automoción, las finanzas, la seguridad y el marketing. Originalmente, la investigación en IA destacaba por su interdisciplinariedad, integrando conocimientos de psicología, filosofía, economía y arte. Sin embargo, recientemente, se ha observado una tendencia hacia la especialización y el aislamiento de la IA de otras ciencias sociales, debido principalmente a la complejidad y rapidez de sus avances. Este enfoque limitado plantea desafíos éticos y sociales significativos, incluyendo problemas de privacidad de datos, el aumento del desempleo por automatización y la perpetuación de sesgos algorítmicos. Para enfrentar estos desafíos, es esencial el desarrollo de regulaciones robustas y políticas que promuevan un uso ético y responsable de la IA. Además, es crucial fomentar la educación y la conciencia pública sobre las implicaciones de la tecnología, asegurando que su desarrollo y aplicación sean inclusivos y equitativos. Este artículo destaca la importancia de reestablecer la colaboración interdisciplinaria para maximizar los beneficios sociales de la IA y minimizar sus riesgos potenciales.
