Introduction: IASP (International Asociation for the Study of Pain) defines pain as "a sensory or emotional unpleasant experience, associated with actual or potential tissue, damage or described in terms of such damage"1. The pain can be acute or chronic, whose duration is equal to or greater than 3 or 6 months (2, 3). Pain control is not achieved with pharmacological measures only, but it is necessary the use of non-pharmacological measures. The objective of this work is to carry out a program of health education with which it is achieved that patients can control their pain. Methodology: a search has been performed in different bibliographic databases (PubMed, Medline, Cochrane Library...) and have been produced several documents of interest to the users of the program, planning a schedule for the development of the program. The effectiveness of this will be assessed through indicators. Development: the "Non-pharmacological treatment of chronic pain" health education program consists of two parts: a common course to all participants, and four courses for groups according to the criteria of inclusion and exclusion.
