La recepción de la "Historie von Herzog Leopold und seinem Sohn Wilhelm von Österreich" en el siglo XV

Resumen: Entre los primeros incunables encontramos, junto a obras de renombre, otras de segunda fila a las que la imprenta trató con singular respeto. Es el caso de la Historie von Herzog Leopold und seinem Sohn Wilhelm von Österreich. Escrita en verso en 1314, fue objeto de dos ediciones en prosa que vieron la luz en Augsburgo en 1481 y 1491 respectivamente. En el presente artículo analizaremos cómo fue su recepción en el siglo XV y de qué manera esta refleja los gustos del lector de la época. Para ello estudiaremos diferentes aspectos, como la forma de transmisión del texto, las ediciones de que fue objeto y el uso que en ellas se hace de los grabados.

Among the first incunabula we not only find renowned texts, but also a number of second-rate works which were respectfully received by the printing press, the Historie von Herzog Leopold und seinem Sohn Wilhelm von Österreich being a good example. This text was originally written in verse in 1314 and two prose editions were printed in Augsburg in 1381 and 1491. The purpose of this article is to study the reception of this work in the 15th century and the way it reflects the taste of the readers of that time. With this aim in mind, we will analyze a variety of elements, including the transmission of the text, its various editions and the use of engravings im each of them.
