El Trust Joyero de Zaragoza, "la casa preferida por las personas inteligentes y de buen gusto"

Resumen: Con el inicio de la Edad Contemporánea, Europa asistió al nacimiento de nuevos espacios comerciales, en buena medida vinculados a la formación de la urbe decimonónica y a la aparición de nuevos ritos cotidianos y formas de consumo. Uno de esos nuevos establecimientos fueron los almacenes de joyería, platería y relojería que, bajo la denominación de El Trust, se caracterizaron por la elegancia de sus instalaciones. Los primeros fundados en España abrieron sus puertas en Madrid en 1906 y, dos años después, se instalaron en Zaragoza. En este artículo se pretende trazar la historia de El Trust de Zaragoza y valorar su importancia como lugar de consumo de objetos suntuarios.
At the beginning of the contemporary era, Europe witnessed the emergence of new commercial spaces, largely connected to the formation of the nineteenth-century city and to new everyday rituals and ways of consumption. Among those novel establishments were the jewellery, silver and watch shops, which, under the name of El Trust, were characterised by the elegance of their premises. The first ones founded in Spain opened their doors in Madrid in 1906 and, two years later, they settled in Zaragoza. This article aims to outline the history of El Trust in Zaragoza and to emphasise the importance of the establishment as a place for the consumption of sumptuary objects.
