El término ἱερόσυλος y su operatividad en el corpus de Luciano

Resumen: This paper aims to analyse the occurrences of ἱερόσυλος in Lucian of Samosata’s works. On the one hand, it evidences how its literal meaning (‘thief of sacred objects’) may vary depending on the literary context. On the other, the combination of the term with several rhetorical topoi is also relevant since these are conventions the author employs to stress the semantical scope of ἱερόσυλος. Este artículo busca analizar las apariciones de ἱερόσυλος en el corpus de Luciano. Por un lado, se pretende evidenciar cómo el significado etimológico del término (‘ladrón de objetos sagrados’) puede modificarse según el contexto literario. Por otro lado, también resulta fundamental subrayar la intensidad semántica que adquiere el término gracias a su combinación con distintos recursos retóricos.
