Correlates Between Parents' and Their Children's Compliance With the 24‐Hour Movement Guidelines: A Cross‐Sectional Study
Resumen: Very few young people meet the 24-Hour Movement Guidelines (i.e., physical activity, recreational screen-time and sleep duration). In this regard, when it comes to compliance with the 24-Hour Movement Guidelines, very little is known about the parent-child relationship. Thus, the aim of the present study was to examine whether parents' compliance with the 24-Hour Movement Guidelines is associated with an increased likelihood of compliance with these same recommendations in their children. A total of 196 participants: specifically, 98 Spanish students (55.1% girls) aged 3 to 9 years and 98 parents were included in the present cross-sectional study. Associations between parents' and children's compliance with the 24-Hour Movement Guidelines were assessed via binary logistic regression. This cross-sectional study highlights that parents who met all three 24-Hour Movement Guidelines were more likely to have children who were also compliant than parents who met none, one or only two recommendations.
