Resumen: In the six years since the COVID-19 pandemic (2020–2026), digitalisation has rapidly become a transversal dimension of social work practice. Digital competencies are now an essential requirement for both service users and professionals alike, and digital vulnerability (López Peláez et al., Citation2026) has emerged as one of the defining challenges to citizens’ well-being. Whether approached from a psychodynamic perspective – centred on the individual – or a systemic one – focused on relational networks – social workers face new demands that require stronger digital competencies to support the physical, psychological, and social well-being of at-risk populations. Life trajectories, social networks, and overall well-being are increasingly shaped by the digital environment, making it imperative that professional intervention evolves accordingly.
