La colección de obras de arte de Juan Piñeiro, fundador del colegio de la Compañía de Jesús de Pamplona (1580)

Resumen: El presente estudio da a conocer la colección de obras de arte de Juan Piñeiro, señor de Eriete y militar navarro al servicio de Carlos V en Italia, formada por escultura devocional, cuadros de temática religiosa, histórica y mitológica, estatuaria clásica, con imágenes de Augusto, Mucio Escévola, Alejandro Magno y los trabajos de Hércules, además de joyas, entre otros objetos. Parte de estas piezas las legó al colegio jesuita de la Anunciada de Pamplona, del que fue fundador y principal benefactor (1580), como seis lienzos religiosos, cuatro de ellos de autoría italiana y una serie de tapices flamencos con la historia de Diana.
The current study lets us know the collection of works of art that belonged to Juan Piñeiro, lord of Eriete and military from Navarre that served Charles V in Italy, formed by devotional sculpture, religious, historical and mythological paintings, classical statuary, with images of Augusto, Mucius Scaevola, Alexander the Great and the labors of Hercules, as well as jewelry, among other items. Piñeiro bequeathed some of these pieces to the Jesuit College of the Annunciation of Pamplona that he founded (1580) and of which he was the main benefactor such as six religious paintings, four of them of Italian author and a series of Flemish tapestries with history of Diana.
