Resumen: Miguel de Altuna, cantero de origen vasco, desarrolló su actividad profesional en Navarra y Guipúzcoa desempeñando el prestigioso cargo de veedor de obras eclesiásticas del obispado de Pamplona (1584-1601). Responsabilidad que conllevaba supervisar la correcta ejecución de las fábricas dependientes de la diócesis pamplonesa a través de sus informes, proporcionando la traza y condicionado de las mismas, tasándolas una vez finalizadas. El estudio aporta documentación inédita localizada en diferentes archivos referente a su trayectoria laboral y la publicación de algunos de los diseños arquitectónicos salidos de sus manos.
Miguel de Altuna, stonemason of Basque origin, developed his professional activity in Navarra and Guipúzcoa playing the prestigious post of supervisor of ecclesiastical works of the bishopric of Pamplona (1584-1601). Responsibility that entailed monitoring the proper execution of the buildings dependent on the Diocese of Pamplona through his reports, providing the design and conditions, making a valuation of them once completed. The study provides unpublished documents located in different archives concerning professional career and the publication of some of the architectural designs that come out of their hands.
