Catolicismo social: su influencia en la ciencia y pensamiento económicos españoles

Resumen: En la España del periodo 1860-1930 el peso del catolicismo social, fue relevante para el desarrollo del pensamiento económico, la enseñanza de la Economía y las concepciones de muchos de los principales economistas. En este artículo demostraremos cómo esta ciencia se alimentó de su propio ataque al liberalismo vía discursos y escuelas, siendo rasgo básico de identidad la prevención y reforma de la libre competencia, para evitar una monopolización o cartelización del sistema de nefastas consecuencias para el mercado y la sociedad. Veremos además cómo se creó uno de los sustratos que justificaría la economía corporativa.
During the period 1860-1930, Social Catholicism influence was such that the Economic Thought development, Economics and Teaching and many other leading economists conceptions were strongly affected by it in Spain. This article attempts to shop how this science was nourished by its own attack on liberalism via speeches and schools, adopting as a basic feature of identity the prevention and reform of competition, in order to avoid a monopoly or cartel system with dire consequences for the market and society. We will also see how one of the substrates that justified corporate Economics was created
