Resumen: El presente artículo aborda el estudio del maestro de obras Martín de Gaztelu en tierras de la Ribera de Navarra entre los años 30 y 50 del siglo XVI. Además de acometer bajo su dirección edificaciones de carácter civil y religioso, Gaztelu principalmente acudió a las diferentes localidades de la merindad tudelana con objeto de proporcionar las trazas y condicionados de proyectos arquitectónicos que llevaron a la práctica otros artífices, destacando también su papel de supervisor y perito de obras encargadas a diferentes maestros.
The current article studies the master craftsman Martín de Gaztelu in the south of Navarre among 1530-50 of the XVI century. Apart from directing the building of some civil and religious buildings, he mainly visited different villages of the south of Navarra to give tracings and conditions of the major works carried out by other masters. He was a supervisor and an expert carrying out valuations of other craftstmen’s works.
