La corona en oro esmaltado y resplandor de puntas de cristal de roca donada a la Virgen del Pilar de Zaragoza por Luis Zaporta (1583), primogénito del banquero de Carlos I

Resumen: En la vitrina de las coronas de la Virgen del Museo Pilarista de Zaragoza se conserva una preciosa alhaja, que fue ofrecida a la Virgen del Pilar a finales del Renacimiento por Luis Zaporta, hijo primoge´nito de Gabriel, mercader y banquero de Carlos I con grandes conexiones mercantiles en Europa.
En el tambor de la corona, por el interior, se grabaron la fecha de realizacio´n (1583) y el nombre del arti´fice: Alonso de Ribera o de Rebiras, mientras que el exterior se decoro´ con las armas de la familia. Las fuentes documentales del Pilar revelan que en 1784 la alhaja fue muy modificada, ya que su resplandor original de cristal de roca se reemplazo´ por el que hoy vemos en oro, adereza´ndose con otras joyas aplicadas donadas por nobles al Tesoro del Pilar. Hoy estudiamos la pieza de modo ajustado, gracias a estos datos hasta ahora ine´ditos, mientras las fuentes documentales corroboran co´mo el cestillo y sobrehalo de la joya todavi´a conservan su apariencia manierista original.
The Virgin’s headgears showcase of the Museo Pilarista in Saragossa holds a precious jewel that was offered to the Virgin at the very end of the Renaissance by Luis Zaporta, first born of Gabriel, a merchant and banker of Carlos I, who had great trade relations in Europe.
The date of manufacture (1583) and the name of the goldsmith were recorded inside the ring of the crown: Alonso de Rebiras, meanwhile the family heraldry was recorded outside the ring. The Pillar’s sources reveal that early in 1784 the hea- dgear was heavily modified: its original rock crystal sparkles were replaced with the ones we may actually see today in gold, besides other added jewels donated by noblemen to the Treasury of the Pillar. Now, we discuss with our unpublished information the crown configuration in the most accurate way. The source, also corroborate which original mannerist parts of the crown exist today.
