Las damas también juegan: intercambio de motes de palacio en la década de 1620

Resumen: El intercambio de motes entre las damas de Palacio y caballeros cortesanos es un juego poético documentado y practicado en los siglos XVI y XVII. En el artículo se explica su mecanismo, se analizan en conjunto varias series de motes de la década de 1620 y, en particular, la de 1624. La representación de los materiales en grafos permite visualizar las redes familiares, sociales y clientelares existentes entre los participantes en este pasatiempo palaciego. A partir de estos versos se aborda también la relación de las damas de Isabel de Borbón con la escritura y con la cultura literaria del momento.

The exchange of motes between the Queen''s ladies-in-waiting and courtier knights is a poetic game documented and practiced in the XVI and XVII centuries. Its mechanism is explained in the article, in addition to the analysis of various series of motes of the 1620s decade and, in particular, the one from 1624. The representation of the materials in graphs enables the visualization of the familiar, social, and customer''s nets existing between the participants of this palace pastime. From these verses, the relationship of the court of queen Elizabeth of Bourbon with the writing and literary culture of the time is also addressed.
