Notas: 1. . ABSTRACT Goal: The purpose of this thesis is to analyse the relationship between the c3ardiovascular disease risk scale ERICE (by its acronym in Spanish) and overall lifestyle satisfaction, along with positive affect and negative affect, considering a focus group of senior citizens over 65 years of age, dependent from the Centro de Salud de Campo de Belchite community health centre. Materials and procedure: The foundations of such analysis will be a population-based cross-sectional study in 2017. The study sample –completely random- consisted of 106 subjects that voluntarily complied with a series of personal interviews regarding their overall life style satisfaction, as well as positive affect and negative affect, along with a physical examination and a fasting blood sample draw. The reliability of such questionnaires was assessed via Cronbach alpha coefficient. Results: The results confirmed that emotional well-being, a high level of lifestyle satisfaction, and physical activity became an effective protection barrier against cardiovascular diseases. It turned out that the group of senior citizens over 65 years of age who were living in the rural area expounded to be highly satisfied with their lifestyle; they were not only physically more active, but also had less possibilities to suffer from cardiovascular diseases according to the ERICE scale. Conclusions: The study eventually concluded that men had lower risk to suffer from cardiovascular diseases than women. It demonstrated the importance of physical activity for senior citizens and its direct connection with the positive and negative affect, and overall lifestyle satisfaction in order to prevent cardiovascular disease risk.
