Notas: INTRODUCTION: The Great technological advances and changes in the models of production of the last decades have resulted the introduction of working shift systems ensuring continued 24 hours services. These shifts are part of the working conditions and have a direct impact on health. The population health and in particular nursing professionals are one of the groups most affected by this system, which has an impact on safety and the quality of care of patients. OBJECTIVE: analyze the impact having rotating shifts and night on the health of nurses of the Hospital General San Jorge de Huesca. METHOD: observational, descriptive cross-sectional study on a sample of 120 the San Jorge Huesca General Hospital nursing professionals who work in hospital units, special services and outpatient, with a minimum stay of two years in rotating or fixed shift. Data were collected through questionnaire ISTAS 21 (CoPsoQ), medium version, adapted and validated to the Spanish of the questionnaire of Copenhagen. The data were processed using the statistical program SPSS V.22.0 RESULTS: 120 completed questionnaires were collected. The response rate was 100%. The distribution by sex predominated women (87.9%). The professionals of the rotating morning/afternoon/evening (MTN) presented the worst scores for all dimensions studied against the morning shift (M) that obtained the most favorable. Except in dimensions insecurity, emotional demands, influence and possibility of developing the rest of the studied dimensions indicated associations with the rotating MTN. The clarity of role dimension was the worst rated, the three groups studied obtained an unfavorable score. CONCLUSIONS: Rotary shift nursing professionals are exposed to working conditions that have more negative effects on your health. The rotating which includes night especially influences negatively on health, work/family reconciliation and the perception of psychosocial risks.
